Some of our Squadron's activities
Parade Night - Monday from 1830 hrs to 2100 hrs
Cadets meet in full uniform at Moss Park Armoury on Monday night throughout the school year.
Regular Training
Regular training will have classroom instruction and may have drill instruction. On a regular Parade Night all Cadets should bring: pen or pencil, notebook, pocket money for Canteen (optional).
Weekend Exercises
On selected weekends, Cadets normally meet at Moss Park Armoury and are transported by bus to the training location. Weekend Exercises are an opportunity to practice the skills learned on the parade nights in a "hands on" manner.
Fundraising
All cadets are required to participate in mandatory fundraising activities. Cadets who do not participate in mandatory fundraising activities will not be eligible for extracurricular Squadron events.
Competitions
The Cadet program holds various Zone, Provincial, and National Competitions for the skills learned by the Cadets. Many of these competitions offer Cadets the opportunity to advance to Provincial, and National Level Competitions.
Parades and Events
Our Cadets participate in several Parades and Events throughout the year, such as Remembrance Day and other local or provincial Ceremonies/Parades or Events.
Optional Activities
Some of the optional activities are: Drill Team, Flag Party, Rifle Team, Band, Inter-squadron sports competitions, Toronto Air Group Christmas Training Courses, March Break Trip (extra cost to Cadet) and Flying Scholarship program.
Whether an optional activity is provided depends on the level of participation from the Cadets and the availability of the staff.
Summer Training Courses
There are Summer Training Courses available through the Cadet Program. Cadets apply in November. Each Summer Course has a specific focus.
Mission of the Cadet Program
Our mission is to support and deliver a Cadet Program that contributes to the development and preparation of youth for the transition to adulthood, enabling them to meet the challenges of modern society, through a dynamic, community-based program; and support the delivery of the Junior Canadian Rangers (JRC) Program by the Canadian Army (CA) which provides a structured youth program and promotes traditional cultures and lifestyles, in remote and isolated communities in Canada.
